The Anthropocene Reviewed - John Green

Everybody is constantly consuming content. What sets apart the great leaders and learners is their ability to find the needles of quality in the overwhelming haystack of information out there.

Here are a few of the pieces of content I’ve enjoyed recently.

  1. Exhalation - Ted Chiang

  2. Think Like A Rocket Scientist - Ozan Varol

  3. Story Genius - Lisa Cron

  4. The Code Breaker - Walter Isaacson

  5. The Mortification of Sin - John Owen

  6. The Last Lecture - Randy Pausch

  7. Becoming - Michelle Obama

  8. Bird by Bird - Anne Lamott

  9. Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art - James Nestor

  10. The Infinite Game - Simon Sinek

  11. Billy Summers - Stephen King

For me, I’ve enjoyed getting back into biographies, and Walter Isaacson is one of the best. His work on Jennifer Doudna and the genome editing revolution was inspired and a bit harrowing.

I also was deeply moved by Breath by James Nestor. It was practical, intense, and full of interesting ideas and theories that I hadn’t really spent much time considering.

I’ll always be a fan of good fiction and Stephen King is one of the best writers I’ve read when it comes to capturing a particular emotion (usually horror) with clarity.

Finally, The Last Lecture was something I stumbled upon randomly but that I was very grateful for. It’s a short book that I think most would benefit from reading.
